We love apes

I love the Great Apes

and last Saturday I rescued yet another little ape

from the secondhand store across the street.

 

Today Eyja visited

and I think she shares my feelings.

 

 

Girl Friends

Two of my girl friends visited today

and we took a walk in the one of the parks.

 

 

Visit from the US

Monday evening

we had our first visitor from the US.

 

She left her cruise ship in Copenhagen

and spent a few hours with us

touring downtown Malmö.

 

 

A farm by the lake

This farm is for sale.

William and I went to look at it last weekend.

It was beautiful up there, just too far to commute.

Yeah,

Sweden just won

the World Mastership in ice hockey.

Johny's big party

There was a big party Friday evening

when Johny celebrated his 50th birthday

with many of his friends

 

That many of his friends shared his interest

in whisky and Scotland

was obvious.

 

Four glasses of whisky from 1963 were presented

 and the color, smell, taste and feel were discussed.

 

Lots of good food

 

was served by the men of the young generation.

 

My nephew's girlfriend played and sang songs

that she has composed herself

 

and William played a fanfare

every time the toastmaster wanted attention.

 

 

Wood anemones

Every spring

my Mom wants to visit the place where she used to play as a child

and see the forest filled with wood anemones.

 

Thursday was a holiday

so we drove to Hörby to have picnic in the forest

and to visit the grave.

 

 

Memory from 22 years ago

Over 7000 girls

ran or walked Vårruset (the Sping race) today.

I ran with Charlene and Eyja.

Last time I ran this race was 22 years ago.

That time I had Charlene in the baby carriage and at the end I carried her on my arm while I ran.

The local TV station filmed us,

but they had just finished the Live transmission from the race..

 

 

 

Spring celebrations

April 30th is called Valborgsmässoafton

 

 

 

and you gather around big fires and sing songs to welcome spring.

May 1st

is another day of spring celebrations

especially in the University cities.

 

 

We went to the nearby city of Lund

which has a big university and listened to

 Bleckhornen's spring concert.

Bleckhornen is the band that William has joined.

My smart granddaughter

I have to share this video

For those of you who don't understand the language,

I am telling her to "wipe grandmom's mouth"

and later to wipe her own mouth (she doesn't like to have her mouth wiped).

Spring day with Baby swim

Saturday was a georgeous spring day.

 

 

I watched Eyja at the baby swim

but I have to figure out how to make it into a good format for the web.

 

 

 

 

and afterwards we walked in the park

(of course Eyja was exhausted and fell right asleep).

 

 

My Mom met us in the park

and we enjoyed coffee and cinnamon rolls at the café.

 

 

We looked at the flowers they had just planted

 

 

When Eyja woke up we went to our favorite statue The Chestnut,

so that she could feel the soft smooth part of the stone

 

and the rough part of the stone.
