Det gäller att passa på

It was warmer today,
right at freezing
so we decided we'd better go skating at Pildammarna
before winter is gone.

Burns Supper

Skotland's national poet Robert Burns' birthday
is celebrated all over the world with Burns Supper.
Last night I celebrated for the first time
att my brothers' house..
Everything happens according to a specific routine.
The guests are standing up
when my brother are bringing in the main course, the Haggis.
Johny acted out as I read the poem "Ode to a Haggis",
and then we propose a toast to the Haggis.

It is not easy ...

... to eat by yourself
when you are just turning four months.
But practice makes perfect.

A last farewell

We took our last farewell of my aunt Thursday,
a cold, clear day
with sun and snow but no wind.

A Feast of Ice and Fire

William made dinner
from the cookbook that his Dad gave him for Christmas.
A Feast of Ice and Fire
contains medieval recipes.

Pork Pie
and Crusty white bread.
The honey and the dates made the pie sweet
and it tasted delicious.

Sleepover

Last night Eyja spent the night with me,
for the first time.
Well, not alone,
her Mom was also there.

Photo: William Shelton

This is how happy she was the evening before.

In the morning she was also very content and happy.

I light this candle

I light this candle
for my aunt and Godmother
who passed away in her sleep the night of January 4th
and also for my oldest cousin
who was buried on January 3rd.

Rest in peace.

Eyja 3 months

Eyja's 3 month picture
was taken on New Year's Eve.
You can see one of her smiles
that she so frequently shared this last month.

Charlene also wanted to have her picture taken
in the old chair, this time,
while I posed with Eyja for the Dallas Stars fans.

After celebrating the New Year
Eyja scratched her head and wondered
what all the fuss was about.
